i was away.  i'm home now, and trying to get back into the swing.  but until then, i thought i'd share some photos from the trip.  with closed comments.  because that's about the speed i'm moving right now.

good things, 3

wednesday:

* a "good morning" phone call.  or three.

* a big family lunch at the nursing home.

* i remembered to pick up the macaroons before it was too late.

* sunshine, again.

* sweet nieces.  (and brother and sister-in-law who did the hard work of getting here.)

* beautiful voices.

* being together with family.

* completing the ritual.

* finding the missing pieces of the water bottle.

good things, 2

tuesday:

* 6 uninterrupted hours of sleep.

* the first day of spring vacation.

* waking up to sunshine.

* small children who make art in the early morning.

* wanting to exercise and actually finding time to do it.

* a delicious salad for lunch.

* great-uncle and great-aunt and two cousins.  and mother.  and children.  and husband.  all together in one place.

* making up with b. after he told me that i hurt his feelings.  (not to mention the fact that he told me that i hurt his feelings.)

* a little girl who loves to help.

* making haroset in a little pocket of time.

* d. ran all sorts of helpful errands after dinner.  and washed all of the dishes from my cooking.

wow.  there was a lot of goodness today.

good things

i know i said it was going to be quiet.  because life is insane right now.  but heather is lightening up this week, naming at least one good thing about each day.  and i think that's just the sort of practice that's needed in the midst of the insanity around here.  so i'm jumping on her bandwagon.  

monday:

* yoga.

* lunch with my brother, my mother, and my great-uncle.

* a cooperative dog.

* rain that cleared up by afternoon.

* the last day of school before spring vacation.

* searching for and finding my grandmother's silver in a box in my mother's basement.  and then setting my mother's table with my great-grandmother's tablecloth and the aforementioned silver.  having just enough matching plates to go around.  and loving the way it all looks together.  

* a win.

* benches galore.

in the meantime

it's been so quiet in this space lately.  and it's likely to be quiet for a while, still.  

but in the meantime, you can find me over at habit.  (we have three new guests for the month of april.  i hope you'll stop by for a visit.)
