it's been a whirlwind few days.
i painted this morning. two pieces that i'm not yet ready to share. so here's a piece from a few weeks ago instead. just a quick snapshot. oil and acrylic on paper. 30x30. hanging on a pin board in the studio.
yesterday was lunch - and dinner! - with tracy and her husband and a friend. they were fun and funny and our time together was just wonderful, like being with people i had known forever. i'll share more about our visit tomorrow. when i return from a little camping adventure. tonight is a sleep over at the kids' day camp. we look forward to these sleep overs all year long - a big pot luck supper cooked over a camp fire, a talent show, tie dyeing, a midnight hike, so much fun. the paper they send home about the camp out reads, "we sleep outside under the stars. tents are certainly welcome if they make your stay possible." we bring our tent. and camping mats.
so i'm off to pack up some snack mix and a big salad, a tent, and more. see you tomorrow.
(oh, and thank you - again - for listening to my ramblings this week. your comments and your feedback and your just being here are very much appreciated. very much. there's more rambling where that came from. next week, ok?)

have fun camping, I hope the weather is good and the bugs are absent

emily, you are so full of amazing talent. I heart this painting even more then any of the others I have commented on-
and I spent a little time looking thru your flickr stream today (I am in the midst of doing a ton of mundane edits at work and needed a break). it is funny about what you were saying ... looking at other's photos and seeing what you want yours to look like. I saw so many of yours that were things I wish I would have captured and many that i thought fit the description of where you wanted your work to go- I think sometimes we just look at our own work too harshly and don't see it for what it is- good work.
Have a beautiful time at your camp out, have an ooey-gooey smore for me!

I have ben visiting your blog for a little while and really appreciate and enjoy your photos. Especially your use of light and greens. I was interested to read your commentary on your photography. Taking photos can be so personal and what we see through the lense is so unique and indeed particular to us. I think it is good to reflect on the process and meanings.
