the last monday in february.

finally. only four days until march 1 - and the end of this long shortest-month of the year. of course, the first of march doesn't actually mean that the temperatures will be warm and the skies will be sunny. but it does mean that spring is touchable, almost. within my grasp.

i do feel lucky this year; i came through the winter months relatively unscathed. i had no funk like some others i know. maybe it's because of my short trip to the sunshine state last week. maybe it's because of your wonderful company here, in this space outside of time (stolen, shamelessly from katurah's description of ayyam'i'ha. but an appropriate description, don't you think, for this space - cyberspace, blogosphere, internets - where we gather?). no matter, this winter has been, practically, a breeze. (which makes me nervous, of course - what comes after the calm?)

but here we are, a stone's throw from the start of spring. time to think about seeds and the garden and blooming tulips and my dogwood tree and rebirth and renewal (don't you always think about rebirth and renewal in the springtime? i do.). and green.

at this time of year, i am regularly accosted by the color green. it grips hold of my consciousness, in all of it's loveliest shades, and won't let go until the trees are in full dress and the daffodils are poking up through the earth.

heather mentioned it last week. longing for green. and there it was, that seed, planted in my head, beginning to take hold. i can feel it sprouting already. yesterday, as i wandered through this giant craft show with d., he mentioned - over and over again - that i seemed drawn to the greens. it's beginning. (these are the cups and bowls that we purchased at the show, by the way.)

and so, in honor of the start of march - and in honor of avocado, lime, forest, evergreen, chartreuse, grass, and all of the other lovelies out there in the wide world - i'm dedicating next week to the color green. beginning on monday, march 3, and all through the week, it will be all green here, all the time. feel free to join in. and, please, let me know if you do - whether it's for one day or for the whole week. honor that which plagues you, i say, and see where the road may lead.

as for the rest of this week, the last dribs and drabs of this month of february, i'll be sharing bits of goodness that have filled my world with joy of late. mail. meetings. gifts. there has been so much that i feel as though i've been floating. and i can't wait to share.

(wishing grace happiness (and health!) on this special birthday.)

Wow! Those are lovely, and as I mentioned on flickr I know {well knew} Andy Shaw! Also, my parents were at the ACC show last week as was another friend of mine! {singing in my head : it's a small world after all}
I'll be looking for green next week because now you have sprouted a seed in my head. :)

And now I'm singing "it's not easy being green..."

(I'm in on the green week. SO in.)

Oh, you are speaking my language with green. I'll participate! Love the pottery - it's all just gorgeous.

i can never get
enough of green.
i think
maybe i will
only knit in
green
in march.
;)

I've never done a "week", so I'm going to get my toes wet this time! My first "week". Good project for my new 30-year-old self. Sounds so official. 30. Yep, grown up. hee hee.

count me in for something. you know i love my greens.

will give it a try as well. green is so refreshing. can already feel it uncluttering my mind :)

Wow, I can't believe this month is already almost over. I'm not sure if I'm quite ready for green yet, though. It is still so very white and gray and brown here. I'm not sure where I might find some green, although I am wanting it. But it's right around the corner, it is. March. Green.

yes, spring. rebirth. renewal. the return of my favorite color. do count me in too. it's a good thing i'm heading to a place where that color is abundant outside right now...

oh emily. this is such a perfect idea. great way to welcome in "spring", or at least march. i'm in too, maybe not for the whole week, but i'm in. and i'm loving these new cups and bowls of yours- so so beautiful.

yes! count me in! green is my favorite right now.

What a great idea, I'll join in ;-)

i am needing some green around here! will join in - thank you! xo

I am totally in on the green! Anything to spur along this spring is a welcome distraction.

Thank you for the open invitation to participate. I'd love to join in. As we here in Northern Michigan are still knee deep in winter (literally) lots of green will be a refreshing change.

green. what a great idea. Funny enough i just switched all of my flickr sets to green. i'll be popping in to see all the green here this week.

I'm in! I love green so much. What a great idea! I just discovered your blog and really like it. Thanks!

Would love to join. Thanks for hosting! :-)
