five posts this week. that's a lot, don't you think?
thank you all for your endless mail love (that phrase could refer to your love of my endless mail, or your endless love of my mail). you are so kind to ooh and aah all week long while i went on and on about the goodness that has come my way. i hope it wasn't too self-indulgent to share it all here. it felt awfully self indulgent. but you guys just kept oohing and aahing along with me. really, i thank you for that.
today, a few bits.
first, i've been remiss (lame?) in not mentioning that heather gave me a "you make my day" award. weeks ago. and let me tell you, it made my day. yes it did. to find out that i make somebody's day, so meaningful. and heather! she makes my day, too.
i'm now, after receiving the award, supposed to list five blogs that make my day. but i can't do it. it's too hard. i've never been good at stuff like that. ranking things, saying what's my favorite. i can't even name my favorite color, for pete's sake. i love them all. and surveys, where you have to rank something or other on a scale from one to five. forget about it. i'm the worst. there are so many blogs i love to read. so many of you who make my day. and every one of you who visits here makes my day, too, everyday. so i can't pass it on to just five. i'm lame sorry.
also, as i mentioned on monday, next week is green week in this space. in honor of the beginning of march and the approaching change of season. i'm excited that so many of you want to play along. i'll post links to everyone playing on monday, so do let me know (if you haven't already) if you plan to join me.
and finally, it's leap day today. i wish i had some clever ritual for honoring the occasion. shari mentioned the idea of a leap day ritual earlier in the week, and i've been thinking about that ever since. i'm still thinking, but i've got nothing. if you've got a good one, will you tell me? i'd love to do something meaningful - alone or with the kids or with the whole family or at dinner tonight or something - to honor this unusual day. i'll still be thinking, too. and if i come up with something, i'll post it here when it comes to me.
happy leap day, then! and a happy weekend to you, friends. see you back here next week in full green.
(these seemingly random photos are from my photo-a-day project. evening light in our home over the past few days. and an early taste of the green to be found in unexpected places.)

I'm hoping to play along with green next week. Hoping. Hope seems to be a theme with me lately. Among other feelings.

and count me in for green week too (can't remember if i posted that already)- though we'll see if i can keep up with another full week of blogging! happy leap day emily!

I'm in for green next week. Since I've never thought I looked good in green (and been told that too;) green has always flown under the radar. But I find myself drawn to green more and more; should be fun!

I'd like to be in on green week next week. Here's hoping that finding green in what still feels like winter will make it feel more like spring!

Emily, it is so hard to choose five, I agree with you!
I'm playing green next week, keeping my eyes open. Posting my first on flickr today.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Oh, what a lovely idea! I'm in on green week--oh yes! And good timing, as green is the theme for the next Nectar & Light photoswap. :)

Also, I had a little green up in Flickr not too long ago in the spirit of that lovely approaching Irish holiday and the wishing away of snow:
