7 things

it was fun to find myself tagged by veronique a few days ago.  this is my first meme.  seven random things about me.  here goes...

1. i only wear red shoes.  it's been about eight years now.  i have sandals, hiking shoes, patent leather open-toe high heeled party shoes, clogs, cowboy boots, and more (not too many more, but a few - like flip-flops).  all red.  this winter i plan to replace my last hold out - the snow boots.

2. i went to college after the 11th grade.  i didn't get my high school diploma until after my freshman year of college because i needed my freshman credits to satisfy my high school graduation requirements.  it wasn't because i was especially smart, it was that i couldn't fathom spending another year in high school.

3. i always sit in the same spot at the table.  i have a spot at my own kitchen table, and one at my own dining room table.  i also have a spot at my mother's kitchen table.  and one at her dining room table.  if you sit there, i'll probably ask you to move. 

4. when i sit at a table with other people, i am quite particular about how the seating is arranged.  if i'm at a table with two other people, i won't sit across from the empty seat.  frankly, i don't like to have anybody sitting across from the empty seat.  i'd much rather the person who is alone on one side scoot into the center of that side of the table. i've been known to rearrange people and chairs.  even in a restaurant.

5. i can name all fifty states in alphabetical order.  and all of the united states presidents in chronological order.

6. i met my husband in summer camp.  i was 19.  he was 21.  i was a counselor, he was the unit leader.  it's hard for me to imagine that i'm someone who met her husband at the age of 19.

7. i don't have a favorite color.  it used to be blue, when i was younger.  blue, blue, blue, all shades of blue.  but then i started loving green.  and purple.  the red thing sneaked up on me with the shoes.  i fell in love with orange when i was pregnant with my daughter.  and i thought that pink was awful until just recently.  i just love color.

and there you are.  seven random things about me.  and no photos.  but those are coming next, thanks (again) to veronique who encouraged me to photograph the mess (and progress) of the bathroom renovation.  suddenly i do see the beauty there (though it could be that there are no workmen here today).

I met my husband when I was 19, too. He was 29. ;) We got married 2 years later. Scandalous!
